That paper tape can be used to create not only “ring decorations” but also stars~♡ Moreover, since we don’t use glue for the “ring decorations”, there’s zero worry about getting our hands dirty!!

Let’s Make a 'Star Shower' with Paper Tape!＊

A “○○ shower” is a ceremony in which guests sprinkle flower petals or rice to wish happiness upon the newlyweds as they exit down the aisle.

Recently, it seems that it’s become trendy to sprinkle handmade items like stars and ribbons made of paper. Now, let’s explain how to make a “3D star” using paper tape!

How to Make Paper Tape Stars 0＊ 'Preparation'

You only need two things! Just “paper tape” and “scissors.” I bought “18mm×33mm” paper tape from a 100 yen shop this time!

How to Make Paper Tape Stars 1＊ 'Cutting'

First, cut the paper tape to an appropriate length. If there’s excess, you can cut it later, so I cut mine to about 30 cm.

How to Make Paper Tape Stars 2＊ 'Pass Through'

Next, create a loop with the smooth side facing outward.

Loop it through.

Slowly pull it to avoid creasing the paper tape, and adjust the shape.

Once it looks like this pentagon, that’s OK! If the end you passed through is long, cut it off.

How to Make Paper Tape Stars 3＊ 'Fold'

Fold the shorter end inward.

Fold it along the sides of the pentagon, wrapping it. Make sure the smooth side is on the outside as you layer the paper.

Stop when it becomes about the size in the photo.

Similar to before, fold the excess end inward. I found it easier to tuck in the end when it was angled down to the right!

The base of the star is complete.

How to Make Paper Tape Stars 4＊ 'Press'

Press the middle of all the edges inward toward the center.

Once it is indented, pinch the corners to shape it into a nice star.

Paper Tape Star Completed!＊

The 3D star is done. It’s small and very cute, isn’t it?♡

The size of the star is about the size of a 100 yen coin! If you want to make it smaller than this, just halve the width of the paper tape for a smaller star.
