Congratulations to Ainosuke Kataoka and Norika Fujiwara on Their Marriage!*
In late March this year, kabuki actor Ainosuke Kataoka and actress Norika Fujiwara announced their marriage. They held their wedding ceremony on September 23 and had a reception on September 28. Congratulations to both of you!♡
How Did They Meet and What Were the Words of Proposal....?
The two first met when Ainosuke attended a performance of the musical "Marguerite," which Norika starred in five years ago. Their relationship began in the summer of 2015, but what about the proposal?
Actually, it seems they casually started talking about marriage. Ainosuke stated at their press conference, "I would like to propose in a romantic way during our honeymoon. I want to keep it special for that moment." It seems Norika is also looking forward to this!*
A Different Elegance! Introducing the Wedding Ceremony of the Couple*
Their wedding ceremony was truly a wonderful traditional Japanese wedding that exuded a sense of prestige! As expected from Japan's renowned kabuki actor and a leading actress. Here’s a glimpse of the lavish and extraordinary wedding ceremony and reception of Ainosuke Kataoka and Norika Fujiwara.
Ritual of Prayer @ Kamo-Mikawa Shrine in Kyoto
The couple chose to hold their wedding ceremony at Kamo-Mikawa Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage site located in Kyoto. The decision to have the ceremony in Kyoto came from Ainosuke's fond memories of his birthplace, and his wish to have the Shinto wedding ceremony there.*
During the Shinto ceremony, Norika wore a hand-painted white ceremonial kimono with pearl leaf applications, while Ainosuke donned a black formal kimono with hakama. Their entrance under a red parasol was simply beautiful.
This white ceremonial kimono is the highest quality attire for the ritual, created by the hand-painted Yuzen artist Mr. Akiyama Akira. The design features "Chasing Five Ginkgo Leaves," which is Ainosuke's family crest. This is a one-of-a-kind bridal outfit just for Norika!
