Worrying About the Weather on the Wedding Day...
One of the biggest concerns for all brides-to-be is the weather. "What if it rains on the wedding day...?" The anxiety and excitement fill the heart long before the weather forecast is announced.
The weather is something we can't control with effort. Whether or not the sky will be blue on the day is truly a matter of chance... But if there’s anything to cling to, we definitely want to hold on to it!!
Did You Know There’s a "Weather Shrine" with a Weather Deity? ♡
For brides feeling uncertain and without a place to turn, we recommend visiting the Hikawa Shrine in Koenji, Tokyo. It is the only shrine in Japan dedicated to the weather deity, known as the "Weather Shrine."
Many visitors from all over Japan come to the Hikawa Shrine to pray for clear skies ♡
The Weather Shrine originally belonged to the Army Weather Department. Although it was supposed to be removed after the war, it remained due to a survey oversight and was later transferred to Hikawa Shrine.
A particularly unique feature is the geta-shaped ema (votive plate). Based on the custom of predicting the weather by flipping the geta, there are cute ema with red and yellow straps that are offered.
Increasing Number of Brides Visiting for Clear Weather Prayers ♡
The Weather Shrine is a hot topic among brides-to-be. It seems there are brides who visit together with others getting married on the same day.
To find brides who are getting married on the same day, the "Marry Bride Encyclopedia" or Instagram hashtag searches (e.g., #ちーむ0422) are useful!
