First, about the materials for Topiary*

The original meaning of Topiary is “artificially shaped plants,” so anything that looks like a tree is fine♡ Authentic Topiary is made from artificial flowers, preserved flowers, fake greenery, and green moss.

Of course, you can make it from those materials, but this time, we will introduce how to make Topiary using the easiest material: “Paper Napkin Flowers.”

Paper Napkin Flowers are flowers made from decorative paper or paper napkins, and since they can be obtained at a 100-yen store, it is budget-friendly◎

Additionally, compared to artificial flowers and greenery, they are lighter and easy to adhere, making them perfect for beginner DIYers!♡

Here’s the list of materials for this project ♡ This is for 2 Paper Napkin Topiaries. You will also need scissors and a glue gun.*

① 60 Paper Napkin Flowers (how to make later*)

② 2 round styrofoam balls

③ 2 square styrofoam pieces

④ 2 small flower pots

⑤ 2 branches

⑥ A small amount of moss or fake greenery

Now, let’s take a look at how to make Topiary using Paper Napkin Flowers ♩

How to make Topiary for weddings 【2】 Assemble the base

Another important material for making Topiary is styrofoam* We will use the round styrofoam for the top part of the Topiary and the square one to secure the branches inside the flower pot.

Carve the square styrofoam to fit perfectly into the prepared flower pot and place it inside. Insert the branch with the round styrofoam on top, and the base is complete* Since the styrofoam inside the flower pot can look unsightly, cover the surface with moss or greenery to hide it.

How to make Topiary for weddings 【3】 Attach the flowers to the base

Once the base is ready, glue the Paper Napkin Flowers with a glue gun. You can start attaching from anywhere, but for a neat round shape, attach them in order from the edge ♡ Adjust the spacing so it’s not too tight or too loose◎

Once all the Paper Napkin Flowers are attached, you’re done ♡ Feel free to add mustaches, lips, bow ties, or veils to decorate as you like ♩
