"5 Benefits of Having a 'Post-Wedding Photoshoot' that Are Even Better than Pre-Wedding Shoots"

Should You Take Wedding Photos Before or After the Ceremony?
Many brides choose to have "before" or "after" photos due to the limited time available on the wedding day, or because they cannot wear the dresses or traditional attire they want. Have you decided whether to do one or the other?
Of course, if time and money are not an issue, you'd want to do both, but often that’s not the case. If you could only choose one, which would you prefer…?
The Benefits of Taking Wedding Photos After the Ceremony!
Many brides choose to take before photos because they want to use those images for wedding paper items and welcome boards. However, there are actually a ton of great advantages to taking after photos ♡
Today, I will share the benefits of after wedding photography ♩
Benefit 1 of Taking Photos After the Ceremony: More Time for Preparation!
One of the benefits of taking photos after the ceremony is that you can spend more time preparing ♡ When taking photos before the wedding, the hustle of preparing for the ceremony and the new life often leads to neglecting the preparation for the photo shoot.
However, when you take photos afterward, you can do it whenever you want, allowing for a relaxed preparation period ◎
You'll have the chance to carefully choose your shooting studio, DIY props without worry, and create direction sheets to your satisfaction. With before photos, you have to balance multiple preparations and can’t devote all your time to just that!
Therefore, after photos, which allow for a more calm and ample feeling of time, come highly recommended ♡
Benefit 2 of Taking Photos After the Ceremony: Capture What You Couldn't During the Wedding!
Being able to take photos of things that couldn’t be captured during the wedding is another great aspect of after photos ♡ Many brides harbor regrets about their wedding photos.
For example, not liking the full-body photo from the front of the wedding dress, missing photos of the back of the colored dress, being unable to take pictures in the waiting room, or wanting to capture a princess carry shot, among others.
With before photos, such regrets can linger on. There are brides who think, "I was torn between before and after photos and chose before, but I really should have opted for after."
Thus, if you can only choose one, I highly recommend after photos ◎ It’s a wise choice to pinpoint and gather the photos you couldn't capture during the wedding instead of living with regrets ♩
Benefit 3 of Taking Photos After the Ceremony: Choose Your Favorite Season!
Being able to choose your favorite season is another benefit of after photos* Most people prepare for weddings within a year and a half to six months.
So, if you want to take before photos in your favorite season, you need to choose a studio from the moment your wedding date is confirmed a year and a half in advance. But when beginning wedding preparations, many brides end up choosing a studio without really knowing what’s good.
However, with after photos, you have a year and a half to six months during the wedding preparation to leisurely choose a shooting studio. It's also great to be able to check out studios and poses that senior brides have used for their before and after photos ♡
Furthermore, if you're only six months away from the wedding, that means you must take the before photos within those six months, right? For instance, if it’s February and your wedding is in August, even if you wanted to take photos with sparkling Christmas illuminations, you would have to give up on that.
But with after photos, there is no time limit like "before the wedding," so you can take your photos whenever you want ♡
It's truly a shame to prioritize taking before photos over your favorite season! You will likely feel more satisfied taking after photos in your desired season than sacrificing that wish for before photos.
Benefit 4 of Taking Photos After the Ceremony: You Might Capture Honeymoon Photos ♡
Many brides also capture their after photos during their honeymoon* While before photos are typically taken within Japan, after photos can be taken abroad as an extension of your honeymoon ♩
Isn't it wonderful to think about taking wedding photos in an unfamiliar place with just the two of you?? In foreign countries, it’s easier to take bold poses, and it's nice when people around you congratulate you with "congratulations!" ♡
Benefit 5 of Taking Photos After the Ceremony: More Financial Flexibility!
The last benefit I want to mention is having more financial flexibility* It’s difficult to calculate the total costs of a wedding accurately.
In addition to wedding expenses, there are also costs for the engagement and face-to-face meetings, honeymoon, new home, and preparations for life after marriage, plus you have to consider giving back if you receive gifts…!
Therefore, many brides prepare for their wedding with vague worries. It’s likely that words like “anxiety,” “future,” and “saving” weigh on your mind.
Amidst all that, during the before photos, you may find yourself subconsciously thinking, "Is it okay to spend money on before photos now?" which could lead you to give up on the studio you wish to shoot at because it's too expensive or downgrade your plans.
However, with after photos, such worries are unnecessary* Once everything related to the wedding is taken care of, everyday life will continue as usual ◎ So you can approach after photos knowing, "It's okay to spend this much on the shoot!"
Saving up for after photos is also recommended* With a goal, both of you can work hard together ♡
After Wedding Photos Are Full of Benefits ♩
I've shared five benefits of after wedding photography with you* It seems that many are becoming more attracted to after photos rather than before photos… ♡
Of course, before photos have their greatest charm in that the photos taken can be used for the wedding ♩ However, there are just as many, if not more, benefits to after photos.
So, to all brides considering if they should take before photos or after photos, and even to brides who have already married, give 'after photos' a try as they hold so many attractive elements! ♡
