A Revolutionary Idea: Using Video Calls to Include Distant Grandparents and Friends Studying Abroad at Your Wedding!

Are there any guests who cannot physically attend the wedding?
The wedding ceremony is a special occasion for you and your beloved partner. It’s also a time to express gratitude to those who have supported you, so it would be nice if important people could attend your wedding.
Unfortunately, if someone can’t attend due to other commitments, that's understandable.
Are there any guests who cannot physically come to the wedding? For example,...
✓ Grandparents who live far away and cannot travel
✓ Friends studying abroad who can't come
✓ Parents with two small children who cannot leave home
✓ Those who have moved overseas and find it difficult to return
✓ Those who have unavoidable business trips and cannot participate
There are many people who, for various reasons, want to attend the wedding but cannot. While it's understandable, as a bride, you would love for them to come. That said, you can’t just insist they come.
Let's have them participate in the wedding via "video call" ♡
If there are circumstances preventing someone from attending the wedding, I recommend inviting them to participate via "video call."
In fact, I had friends join via video call during my wedding!
I arranged for two friends to join the wedding via video call. Both were studying abroad, making it difficult for them to attend, but they took time out to video call despite the time difference! ♡
It's best to ask guests to handle the video call ◎
If you're having friends or family join the wedding via video call, it’s recommended to ask someone other than the couple to handle it.
On the wedding day, the bride and groom don’t have time to be on their phones. It’s also possible that they won’t be able to answer the call, even if it comes in.
So if you know in advance that a video call will be made, make sure to ask friends ahead of time to help out! ♡
For me, my friends constantly held the iPad for video calls from the start of the ceremony. I felt so happy that my dear friends were watching over us, even from afar! ♩
Don’t forget to take photos too! ♡
If you are going to do a video call, I recommend taking commemorative photos with the iPhone or iPad.
To this day, it’s still a topic, “Remember when we took pictures on the iPad during the wedding while I was abroad?” ♩
[Caution] Be careful when making video calls*
I have introduced how faraway guests can participate in the wedding via video calls. Here are some points to be careful about when making video calls:
✓ Decide on the device for the video call (I used one friend's iPhone and my unused iPad set to Wi-Fi)
✓ Check if there’s a Wi-Fi environment available (without Wi-Fi, data usage can become very high)
✓ Ensure there’s a place to charge or have a battery available (video calls can drain the battery quickly, so if you are doing it for a long time, it’s essential)
Please check these three points and try making the video calls! ♡
Have distant guests attend the wedding via video call ♡

I think it was great that I could share my wedding with dear friends through video calls! Our mutual friends also appreciated being able to update each other during the video call. ♡
Video calls are highly recommended not only for friends studying abroad but also for grandparents living far away. If there are guests who cannot physically attend the wedding, please consider the video call option! ♩
