Moving in for the Wedding is Quite Challenging!

How much luggage do you bring for a wedding? If everything for the wedding is ordered from the wedding venue and there’s nothing to bring yourself, there’s no need for any moving in.

However, brides who have nothing to bring are in the minority. For example, things that are often brought include:

✓ Petit gifts

✓ Gifts for the parents

✓ Decorations for the welcome space

✓ Table numbers

✓ Ring pillow

✓ Accessories, etc.

✓ Prizes for the after-party

✓ Paper items

and so on. There are quite a few items to bring, right?

Carrying all this luggage into the venue at once can be quite a challenge!

Also, troubles can easily arise during the move-in.

Necessary Item for Move-In at the Wedding Venue ① Move-In List

First, create a "Move-In List" when moving into the wedding venue♩ Without a move-in list, if by any chance something is missing, you won’t know if it was forgotten or misplaced during the move.

Therefore, making a move-in list is a must! For brides with many items, this is definitely something you should prepare◎

It’s useful to note the following on the move-in list:

Items ➡ Write down what you are bringing

Details ➡ For items like a welcome board that have multiple pieces, it’s clearer to write down the details

Desired Display Location ➡ If there is a specific place you want the items displayed, it’s reassuring to write this next to the move-in list◎

Placed Location ➡ If there are many cardboard boxes or paper bags, numbering them is recommended

Check ➡ It’s handy to have a check-off section for three key moments: when you leave home with the items, when you check with the planner at the wedding venue, and when you bring items back home from the venue.

After Use ➡ It’s also recommended to write down whether you will take the items back home or dispose of them after using them. Mark a slash on the check-off section for items to be disposed of.

It’s a good idea to print a copy of the move-in list for the planner as well♡

Necessary Item for Move-In at the Wedding Venue ② Cardboard Boxes

Cardboard boxes are one of the essential items for move-in* Be sure to prepare the appropriate sizes according to your items♩

It’s quite difficult to gather cardboard boxes right before the move. When items ordered online arrive in cardboard boxes, it’s recommended to keep those for the move-in*

Additionally, having many cardboard boxes can be bulky. If space is tight at home or if the vehicle for move-in is small, prioritize heavy or fragile items in boxes, while putting lighter or more durable items in paper bags◎

Numbering the cardboard boxes along with the move-in list will make checks at the venue go more smoothly♩

Necessary Item for Move-In at the Wedding Venue ③ Paper Bags

When putting items in paper bags, make sure to use sturdy, thick paper bags◎ Thin and flimsy bags might not protect the items during movement, and they could tear, so choose robust ones*

Some brides found that large plastic bags from Costco or IKEA were very useful!♩

Carrying items as they are can be cumbersome and could get dirty, so be sure to pack them in boxes or paper bags for transport!

It’s also convenient to number the paper bags in alignment with the move-in list◎

Necessary Item for Move-In at the Wedding Venue ④ Full-Sheet Sticky Notes

It’s advisable to use full-sheet sticky notes to label items clearly♩

Standard sticky notes that only cover the top can peel off while moving items. Therefore, prepare full-sheet sticky notes and write in large, clear letters with a marker♡

Full-sheet sticky notes can be found at stationery stores or lofts, but it's easy to forget to buy them, so ordering from Amazon to avoid forgetting is a smart choice◎

➡ You can buy full-sheet sticky notes here*

Necessary Item for Move-In at the Wedding Venue ⑤ Bubble Wrap

The last item I want to introduce is bubble wrap* Wrap all fragile items in bubble wrap for the move-in◎

It would be devastating if DIY items made with care or delicate purchased decorations were to break...!

So, during the move-in, don’t be complacent; wrap items securely in bubble wrap, fix them in place, and place them inside the cardboard boxes♩

Prepare Well and Move-In Without Troubles*

I’ve presented how to carry out the move-in and what items to prepare◎ Move-in can often lead to troubles. It would be truly disappointing if prepared items were forgotten and could not be displayed or if items were to break.

Be sure to carefully check your items before the move-in and complete it without forgetting anything♩
