Additionally, the photos taken by guests capture scenes of them enjoying themselves, as well as relaxed smiles from the couple—shots that the photographer might not capture*
It feels like you’re reliving your wedding from the guests' perspective ♡
Guest photos are full of joyful moments. While many guests will take photos without being asked, there is a method you can use that significantly increases the number of photos sent from guests ♡
I'll introduce five such methods ♩
Method 1: An Announcement from the Host Encouraging Guests to Take Photos
The first method is to have the host announce during the ceremony or reception, "Please take lots of photos and share them with the newlyweds."
It's a very simple method, but it surprisingly works well!
At a wedding I attended, the host made this announcement repeatedly. Thanks to that, I heard that friends sent over a thousand photos via social media that night*
Method 2: SNS Signs
The next idea is to use SNS signs ♡
By placing them in waiting areas or on guest tables, you can subtly encourage guests to take photos*
It's also a good idea to have a designated hashtag for Instagram posts.
If there’s a handmade SNS sign prepared, guests are likely to feel inclined to "take photos and send them"♡
Method 3: Provide Instant Cameras
Another idea is to place instant cameras on guest tables.
Many brides provide them for child guests, but adults can enjoy them too ♡
If you leave a camera with a message like "Looking forward to some great photos♡," guests will likely take turns capturing lots of moments◎
You can enjoy a unique aesthetic that differs from DSLR or smartphone photos ♩
Method 4: Lending Your Camera to Guests
For brides who own a digital camera, you can lend it to close guests.
I had a guest who offered to hold my camera for me, and throughout my reception, they took pictures with it*
They captured various photos from when we were waiting, and it was really fun to see them!
(When asking someone to take your camera, I recommend a compact digital camera rather than a heavy and complex DSLR*)
Method 5: Directly Ask Guests
The last method is the most straightforward: directly communicating via LINE to your guests♡
The day before the wedding, send a message like, "I’m looking forward to tomorrow; I'd love it if you could take lots of photos."
And on the night of the wedding, send a note saying, "Thank you for today; I'd appreciate it if you could send me the photos when you have a moment."
Some guests might forget to share photos they took, so it’s effective to include a gentle reminder along with your gratitude ♩
Please Have Guests Take and Send Lots of Photos ♡
The more photos you have from your wedding day, the better. If your guests can enjoy the wedding while taking plenty of pictures, it truly is the best outcome ♡
