【Be Careful】 The Services of Wedding Venues Are Not Always What They Seem!
While browsing Instagram, there are so many wonderful posts, and it's easy to apply them all to yourself.
Of course, there are beautiful dresses and hairstyles, but you also tend to compare the services of the wedding venues and dress salons with the ones you have chosen.
However, the services commonly seen on Instagram are just a small part.
Not all wedding venues and dress salons provide the same services*
Special Service Seen on Instagram ① They Draw Images of Table Flowers and Venue Decorations
One lovely service commonly seen on Instagram is when florists, planners, or coordinators provide a drawn image of the table decorations or venue decorations!*
It’s delightful when they create beautiful illustrations to better explain the wishes of the bride and groom♡
It helps to visualize the day of the wedding even more♩
However, this service is quite rare among wedding venues. Normally, discussions about flowers and venue decorations are mostly verbal and often just a one-time meeting.
It’s common not to receive an illustrative image, so don’t be disheartened if you don’t get one◎
Wedding venues are professionals at materializing the images of the bride and groom!
Even if there’s just one meeting or no illustrative image, as long as you can convey your wishes and ideas for decorations, they will surely create something amazing for you♡
Special Service Seen on Instagram ② They Let the Bride and Groom Decorate
Some wedding venues allow the bride and groom themselves to decorate the venue a day or a few hours before the wedding*
By decorating it themselves, they can achieve a satisfactory decoration and welcome space, and they can take photos in areas they can't see thoroughly on the day, which is fantastic♡
However, it’s rare for venues to let the bride and groom do the decorations.
This is because, for instance, a bride getting married in the afternoon might be using the venue for another wedding in the morning, or the venue might be occupied for other events the day before.
Typically, the bride and groom can only use the venue during their contracted time on the wedding day.
They don’t have the freedom to decorate beforehand...!
Just because the venue might be available, it doesn’t automatically mean the bride and groom can decorate; a planner needs to be present, which incurs staffing costs.
Taking these factors into account, there are kind venues that might say, “If the venue is free the day before or a few hours before, the bride and groom could do the decoration!” However,
Generally, you won’t be able to decorate yourself. If you are told decorating isn’t allowed, don’t take it to heart as it’s quite normal*
Even if you can’t decorate yourself, the venue staff will surely make it stylish and beautiful♡
If the wedding venue allows you to decorate, it’s important to genuinely thank them for accommodating and accompanying you beforehand♡
Special Service Seen on Instagram ③ They Take Lots of Fitting Photos and Videos
The last service I'll introduce is that they take many fitting photos and videos during the dress fitting!*
On Instagram, there are many wonderful photos like sitting shots during the dress fitting and couple shots with the tuxedo man♡
However, it’s rare for dress salons to say, "I will take some photos for you!"
This is because the fitting time is where you decide on the dress for the wedding* It’s not essentially a place for a "photo shoot"...
Some costume shops might take various poses for you to look back on later, but that’s primarily to make the dress look more appealing*
The staff at the dress salon are there to assist you in selecting your “dream dress,” not to be your dress fitting photographer◎
If there are specific shots you want during the fitting, you should ask the staff.
If you go for a fitting with your partner, mother, or friends, it’s advisable to have them take the photos♩
Additionally, regarding hairstyles during fittings, they typically do a simple style or pin it up. While some places might do a cute hair setup, generally, don’t expect much in terms of hairstyling*
I introduced three services that are often seen on Instagram but aren’t standard services*
Occasionally, I see brides saying, “I didn’t receive an illustrative image from the venue,” “I wasn’t allowed to decorate,” or “They didn’t take photos or videos during the fitting,”
But that is quite normal and receiving such services would be super lucky!♡
Generally, these aren’t provided, so if you happen to get lucky, just be grateful thinking it’s wonderful!* If you consider it standard and don’t receive it, you might end up feeling sad...
Instagram expands our dreams because you can see so much information from many brides, but weddings are unique to each person.
The wedding venue and dress salon seen on Instagram are likely different from yours◎
While using Instagram for reference, follow the procedures of the wedding venue and dress salon you choose, and for anything you don’t understand or are curious about, consulting the person in charge right away is the best shortcut to having the most wonderful wedding♡
