What to Worry About in Wedding Photos?

I was a newlywed who had my wedding last year, and while looking back at my wedding photos to create an album, I noticed a few things that concerned me.

These are really tiny details that probably no one else cares about and are more for my own satisfaction, but I thought, “If I had been more aware of this, my photos could have been even more beautiful!” So, I'm somewhat embarrassed to share these points!

For brides-to-be who are about to have their weddings, these are really small things, but by paying a bit of attention to what I’m about to share, I think you can take gorgeous photos♩

Concern About Photos ① The Makeup Room is Messy

The first thing I noticed was that the makeup room was messy.

Since I planned to stay at the hotel after the wedding ceremony, I had my initial preparations done in the hotel room.

Thinking I would be staying there, I ended up scattering my things all over the place...!

Even though I tidied up a bit before the hair and makeup team arrived, my scattered luggage and paper bags ended up appearing clearly in the photos.

While it may not seem like a big deal, don't you think the photos would look prettier without them?

Also, as you can see in this photo, I had placed my luggage on the sofa, so the cushions had been moved to the bed.

Therefore, in the photo of me sitting on the bed, there are cushions placed awkwardly…!

Although I don’t deeply regret it, I reflect that if I had kept the room cleaner, I might have taken more beautiful photos.

If the photographer is going to enter the makeup room or the hotel room, it's better to tidy up any unnecessary items beforehand to create a more pleasant space for photos＊

So, I recommend placing unnecessary items where they won’t be seen before starting your preparations!

Concern About Photos ② The Height of Our Bow is Different

Next, what I noticed in the photos was that the height (or angle) of our bow is different.

This photo captures the scene where we bow at the very end of the ceremony, and as you can see, my bow and my partner's bow are misaligned.

It might not stand out too much, but aligning the heights of our bows would undoubtedly look prettier!

This is a photo taken from the back during the secondary reception when we were exiting.

The height of a single bow is perfectly aligned here, and don’t you think it looks much better?

The timing for bowing together includes:

☑ Exiting the ceremony

☑ Entering the reception

☑ When we sit at the main table

☑ When we receive congratulatory words or a speech

☑ Re-entering

☑ After the groom’s thank-you speech

☑ Exiting

☑ Entering the secondary reception

☑ Exiting the secondary reception

and there are quite a few occasions!

Since the angle and timing for bowing down and up are best if they’re in sync, I recommend mentioning to your partner in advance, “Let’s be aware of each other and align beautifully!” ◎

Concern About Photos ③ The Direction of the Bangle

Lastly, what I noticed in the photos was the direction of my bangle.

I wore a handmade bangle by my sister during my dress change, but since it’s a bangle, the opening for my wrist was left exposed.

I didn’t pay attention to the direction of the bangle while the photos were being taken, and it ended up facing downward in the pictures…!

If the designs are all the same, it’s not a big deal, but with bangles or bracelets that have a specific orientation, you should be cautious.

When taking wedding photos, it seems advisable to be mindful of the orientation of your accessories as well◎

It’s Just for My Own Satisfaction…! Paying Attention to Small Details Can Lead to Beautiful Photos

I shared three points I regretted or noticed while looking at my wedding photos and thought, “I should have done this instead!”

All of these are really minor details that barely anyone cares about, but,

It’s a once-in-a-lifetime wedding. If you are having a professional photographer take your photos, you want to approach it as perfectly as possible＊
